CNC Setup Machinist
Qualified candidates for this position are expected to be self-sufficient and fully capable of setups without supervision
1st shift (great opportunities for advancement and overtime)
2nd shift ( adjusted hourly rates to include nightshift premium )

Tasks and Responsibilities
-Sets up and operate conventional, special purpose, numerical control, and machining centers to fabricate surgical implant components.
-Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
-Measures and determines dimensions required on sample pieces to determine conformance to finish specifications. May be required to perform inspection and statistical analysis of process to determine actions necessary to maintain quality levels on parts and process.
-Select, align, and secure cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines
-Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth and angle of cut, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
-Observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls or control media as required.
-Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications
-Set up and operate machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
-Install machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment.
-Test operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance as required.
-May be required to discuss with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as percentages and basic statistical calculations such as CPK., fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations using calculators, computers, or reference materials.
-Must be self-sufficient / capable of citizen setup without supervision
-Ability to set up a machine and verify the ability to repeat and maintain tight tolerances
-Machine set ups requiring 30+ tools
-Determine and establish the intervals to change tools & make adjustments
Blueprint Reading GD&T
-Required to read and interpret complex geometry
-Detailed blueprints & drawings
-Knowledge of GD&T
-SFM Tooling and Cutting conditions
