The Adirondack Daily Enterprise has an immediate opening for a full-time staff writer.
The Enterprise is among New York’s most consistently award-winning small newspapers and is the only daily published in New York’s Adirondack Park — a patchwork of state forest and private land the size of Vermont.
The job involves a mix of news, feature writing and photography. This reporter will have to quickly turn around local news articles for web and print, write feature stories, produce in-depth news reports, take compelling photographs and help proofread.
Curiosity, writing talent, initiative and responsibility are musts. Journalism experience and familiarity with the area are preferred. A four-year university degree, valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required.
The job pays $15 an hour. Benefits include health and dental insurance options, a 401(k) retirement plan and paid vacation time.
To apply, email a resume, references and three writing samples to Managing Editor Peter Crowley at firstname.lastname@example.org.
