Parsons is seeking a Pipe Superintendent for the I-64 Southside Widening & High Rise Bridge Project. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience installing storm drainage and other underground utilities on VDOT projects.
The Pipe Superintendent should be an OSHA-qualified Competent Person who plans, organizes, and supervises construction work such as excavations, rigging, pipelaying, and backfill; applying expertise and specialized talents to guide the efforts of assigned craft. The successful candidate will be well versed in utility construction means and methods and in equipment functionality . SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Organizes and allocates craft personnel to maintain adequate manpower balance for scheduled construction activities.
Coordinates staffing, material, and equipment requirements with planned engineering and construction schedules.
Assists in the selection, development, and termination of craft foremen and personnel.
Provides technical direction in construction methods to foremen and craft personnel to attain required quality.
Coordinates and verifies construction layout with surveyors, then ensures work complies with furnished layout.
Coordinates work efforts of subcontractors including enforcement of safety, quality, and schedule requirements.
Monitors the efficiency and effectiveness of crews and individual craft personnel to ensure meeting budget, maintaining schedule, and complying with Contract quality requirements, WHILE WORKING SAFELY.
Understands and applies the company labor relations policies.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. Job Requirements:
- 4-year degree in construction-related field (or equivalent construction-related work experience).
- 5+ years of demonstrated self-performing experience in the construction field, on large, complex, heavy civil transportation projects (Road & Highways, Bridge & Tunnel or Rail & Transit).
- Must be knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on the project.
- Position could be based out of any project location in the US. Hence MUST be willing to relocate to any project location. Relocation assistance will be provided.
